Value Proposition:
Chesterfield Group enhances
stakeholder value for our clients through a focus on
-
Business Model
evaluation and optimization. The Business Model, not to be
confused with a Business Plan, is a brief rationale for how the
company as a whole intends to add value to its constituencies.
To do this, it will include an overall vision for the company, a
recognition of which constituencies it intends to serve, a
definition of success for each constituency and a summary of the
company’s competitive strengths and constraints that will
influence its ability to achieve success.
- Recognition of opportunities for the use of Collaborative Business Structures, such as
joint ventures, licensing agreements, outsourcing
arrangements and partnerships—most particularly as an
alternative to a merger or acquisition. New and
improved visions are often available to a company’s
Business Model, if certain constraints can be overcome.
To the extent that filling those gaps may sometimes
appear to be possible through a combination with another
company, the idea of a merger or acquisition is often
considered. Prior to their committing to the M&A
approach, we help our clients place that M&A transaction
in perspective with numerous other types of
Collaborative Business Structures to determine if such
other structures might fill the gaps with greater
certainty or less risk than the M&A would provide.
We bring our focus to these
important areas without any additional agendas or conflicts of
interest. Our only product is our independent, thoughtful advice.
Team:
Robert (Bob) George
founded the Company as a platform to bring to prospective clients a specific set of principles and experience from his own background. These principles are sufficiently abstract as to apply across all industries and all types and sizes of businesses.
That said, however, we recognize that any given client works in the real world of his or her particular situation, including industry, size, etc., with his or her own unique constraints and opportunities related to that situation. The Chesterfield Group's application of its abstract principles must reflect those realities.
To help facilitate that application, Mr. George collaborates with a number of associates he has built up over the years with a broad base of experience in many different industries and business situations. They act as the Chesterfield Group's Board of Advisors and provide background and assistance on assignments within their special areas of experience.
